And February

February gave us the opportunity to get skiing again.  And the scenery was wonderful.  I think that we skied in Lake Louise, Fernie and Sunshine in February.  Aliya has outgrown her skis but hopefully not her boots!  And John is turning into a snow spider... if you remember we always called him "Spidery Millson" for his fleetness of foot on mountain terrain.
Here  you see the most wonderfully winter wonderland of Fernie.  Bailey joined us for a few days to christen her snow board.  Dan was wonderfully patient with us all.  That is the four of us enjoying the scenery as much as the piste.

Of course it was my birthday and what better way to celebrate than have John enjoy the best afternoon tea ever (so far in Calgary) in  Nectar Desserts, Inglewood, a most wonderfully set out tea shop - such attention to detail.

Inglewood is south of the Bow River.  I could have shown you one of John's photos of the ice flows and standing waves along the river as the ice was thawing even then.... but instead this is a view across to the city and the famous Calgary Tower.

This is a rare shot of me cross-country track skiing.  Rare because, as you know, I don't allow too many photos... and also because we haven't done much of this activity.  We went again in March with Aliya and really enjoyed it.   See later blog entry.  This is me getting my track feet as it were, on the practise area of Canmore Nordic Centre... which you might have heard of.  I know it is hard to take your eyes off me to look at the scenery.  But you can, you have my permission.  It is kind of nice there, don't you think.
